To the 110th anniversary of the birth of V.A. Kaverina
As a ten-year-old boy, I read a wonderful book by Veniamin Kaverin "Two Captains". And all my subsequent life I follow the principle of its protagonist Sanya Grigoriev: “Fight and seek, find and not give up!”. It is very important to understand what you are fighting for.
Fazil Iskander called "Two Captains" Kaverin "Three Musketeers" of our days.
Kaverin, V. Two captains: a novel / V. Kaverin. - M.: AST, 2005. - 624 p. - (World classics).
The novel by Veniamin Kaverin "Two Captains" is one of the most striking works of Russian adventure literature of the 20th century. This story of love and fidelity, courage and determination has not left indifferent either an adult or a young reader for many years.
The book was called "a novel of education", "an adventure novel", "an idyllic-sentimental novel", but was not accused of self-deception. And the writer himself said that "this is a novel about justice and that it is more interesting (he said so!) To be honest and courageous than a coward and a liar." And he also said that it was "a novel about the inevitability of truth."
On the motto of the heroes of "Two Captains" "Fight and seek, find and not give up!" more than one generation has grown up who adequately responded to all sorts of challenges of the time.
Fight and seek, find and never give up. From English: That strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
The primary source is the poem "Ulysses" by the English poet Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892), whose 70 years of literary activity are devoted to valiant and happy heroes.
These lines were carved on the grave of polar explorer Robert Scott (1868-1912). In an effort to reach the South Pole first, he nevertheless came to him second, three days after the Norwegian pioneer Roald Amundsen had been there. Robert Scott and his companions died on the way back.
In Russian, these words became popular after the publication of the novel "Two Captains" by Veniamin Kaverin (1902-1989). The protagonist of the novel, Sanya Grigoriev, who dreams of polar campaigns, makes these words the motto of his whole life.
Quoted as a phrase-symbol of fidelity to one's purpose and one's principles.
“Fighting” (including one’s own weaknesses) is the first task of a person. “To seek” means to have a humane goal in front of you. "Find" is to make the dream a reality. And if there are new difficulties, then "do not give up." For half a century, knightly morality contributed to the replenishment of the ranks of pilots, sailors, and polar explorers in the USSR. The charge of high morality and optimism that Kaverin's heroes gave people was obvious.
The first volume of V. Kaverin's novel "Two Captains" was first published in 1938, the second volume was published in 1944. the book has been published several hundred times; has been translated into more than 10 foreign languages; children and adults read it. In 1946, for the book "Two Captains" Kaverin was awarded the Stalin Prize.
Before the announcement of the award in the Soviet press, there was a massive critical attack on the author and his work, because the book does not contain a single word about the party, the Komsomol, and the name of Stalin is never mentioned. What critics considered a disadvantage later turned out to be an indisputable advantage - readers loved the book so much that Kaverin himself began to fear that he would remain in history as a writer of one book.
The plot of the book is based on real events. The story of Sanya Grigoriev reproduces in detail the biography of Mikhail Lobashev, a famous geneticist, professor at Leningrad University. V. Kaverin met him in the mid-30s, and this meeting prompted the writer to create a book.
“He was a man,” he later recalled, “in whom ardor was combined with straightforwardness, and perseverance with amazing definiteness of purpose. He knew how to achieve success in any business, even if it was a game of carom, which we then were fond of. A clear mind and a capacity for deep feeling were visible in his every judgment.
Over the course of six evenings, he told me the story of his life - extraordinary, because it was full of extraordinary events, and at the same time similar to the lives of hundreds of other Soviet people. I listened, then I began to write down, and those forty or fifty pages that I then wrote down formed the basis of the novel "Two Captains" (Kaverin V. "Hello, brother. It's very difficult to write ..." (M., 1965), with 238).
“Even such extraordinary details as the dumbness of little Sleigh were not invented by me,” the author admitted.
“When the first chapters were written, which tell about Sanya Grigoriev’s childhood in Ensk, it became clear to me that something extraordinary was about to happen in this small town - an accident, an event, a meeting. The novel was written in the late thirties, which brought huge, breathtaking victories in the Arctic to the Soviet country, and I realized that the “extraordinary” that I was looking for was the light of the Arctic stars, which accidentally fell into a small, abandoned city ”(Kaverin V.“ Hello, brother, writing is very difficult…” (M., 1965), p. 240).
The image of Captain Tatarinov makes us recall several historical analogies at once. In 1912, three Russian polar expeditions set sail: one, on the St. Fock, was headed by Georgy Sedov; the second - Georgy Brusilov on the schooner "St. Anna", and the third, on the boat "Hercules", was led by Vladimir Rusanov. All three ended tragically: their leaders died, and only St. Fok returned from the voyage. The expedition on the schooner "St. Maria" in the novel actually repeats the timing of the journey and the route of "St. Anna", but the appearance, character and views of Captain Tatarinov make him related to Georgy Sedov.
“For my “senior captain”, I used the story of two brave conquerors of the Far North. From one I took a courageous and clear character, purity of thought, clarity of purpose - everything that distinguishes a person of great soul. It was Sedov. Another has a fantastic story of his journey. It was Brusilov. The drift of my "St. Mary" exactly repeats the drift of Brusilov's "St. Anna." The diary of the navigator Klimov, given in my novel, is completely based on the diary of the navigator “St. Anna "Albanov - one of the two surviving members of this tragic expedition" (Kaverin V. "Hello, brother. It is very difficult to write ..." (M., 1965), pp. 241, 242).

Another prototype of the protagonist was the military fighter pilot Samuil Klebanov, who died heroically in 1943. A talented pilot and a wonderful, clean person. It was he who initiated the writer into the secrets of flying skills. “I was proud of his friendship,” recalled V. A. Kaverin.
“Ask anyone, Kaverin is the author of what? And they will say: "Two captains." This is a book of rare fate. And no matter how long, to our joy, its author lived, we can safely say that she will outlive him by several lives. The Two Captains are known by title, like Tom Sawyer, like The Three Musketeers, before they even remember the name of the author.
... The action unfolds like a spring. Short enticing chapters, each of which promises a new turn of life, some event, some riddles. The finest building! In the first paragraph, there is a tie: a mail bag with soaked letters and a drowned postman. These letters, which caught your secret curiosity, will reappear somewhere closer to the middle of the book and lead the plot. Meanwhile, the action is rapidly unwinding, capturing new faces along the way, so it's impossible to put the book aside...
Kaverin is a romantic by nature. But his youthful romance, I think, has nothing to do with pompous romanticism. Kaverin himself lives like a young man in his books, lives in expectation, hope, enticing mystery and a sense of honor.
The hero of "Two Captains" Sanya Grigoriev devoted his whole life to restoring the name of Captain Tatarinov. remarkable traveler, whose name did not remain on any geographical map because of meanness, because of hostility, because of the non-recognition of his discovery. The plot of the novel is based on the passionate desire of Sanya Grigoriev to reach this truth, to restore this name. The return of trampled justice, the good name of a person - this is the highest feat, which Kaverin's romance recognizes. And if romance can in some cases be a way of escaping from the truth, then it can also be a means of coming to it.”
Kaverin recalled: “During the Leningrad blockade, the radio committee asked me to say a few words on behalf of Sanya Grigoriev, the hero of my novel “Two Captains”. I said, "But, excuse me, it's a semi-fictional character." They replied: "Nothing, the guys think that he is alive and well, say a few words on his behalf." At the front, the situation was very difficult, and on behalf of Sanya Grigoriev, a literary hero, I delivered a speech addressed to the Komsomol members of the Baltic. I would say that this is the bridge that literature throws into life.
(Kaverin V. Teach literature (Vozhaty, 1973, No. 1, p. 20).
In 1986, Kaverin admitted in an interview: “I am still amazed at the success of The Two Captains, not considering this novel to be my best novel.”

About the unique Russian polar expedition. Her goal is to uncover the mystery of the death of the schooner "Saint Anna", captained by Georgy Brusilov. In August 1912, the ship set off along the Northern Sea Route. Of the entire team, only two survived. One of them is the navigator Albanov, whose diaries became the basis for the famous "Two Captains" by Kaverin. As time shows, the motto of the hero of the novel, Sani Grigoriev, is “Fight and seek, find and not give up!” - follow the captains of the XXI century.
Sanya Grigoriev, the protagonist of the famous novel by Veniamin Kaverin, eventually found the remains of Captain Tatarinov's polar expedition. So it was in "Two Captains" - the book and the film. But in fact, the secret of the schooner "Saint Anna" and its crew, led by Lieutenant Georgy Brusilov, was only slightly revealed in the summer of 2010, when a search expedition led by the honorary polar explorer Oleg Prodan visited Franz Josef Land.
Preparations for the search for traces of the Brusilov team took five years: they studied the archives, prepared for historical, archaeological and other scientific research. All expenses - for equipment, arrangement and operation of the camp, as well as for the work itself, with the exception of transport support - the researchers had to bear.
The expedition was a success. The remains and personal belongings of Brusilov polar explorers who died on the Franz Josef Land archipelago back in 1914 were found.

Here it is, the same glacier, next to which the remains and belongings of Georgy Brusilov's expedition members were discovered. From now on, a memorial cross will stand at this place.
Maybe this was the last letter from one of the dead polar explorers? It is difficult to convey the feelings that you experience when reading lines written almost 100 years ago ...

Yes, there are not many chic exhibits, there is not a wide variety of topics, but there is a special spirit. Burning theme! And it becomes a little pity that Kaverin's novel practically fell out of school study, despite the fact that the modern child has a clear shortage of positive characters. No, this is not longing for a bygone era, for one's childhood, through which "Two Captains" passed like a red thread. It continues to be relevant and modern to this day, because the idea of goodness, the victory of justice have been and remain enduring values.

The museum of the novel "Two Captains" was replenished with a truly unique exhibit, which lain for 68 years in the cockpit of the Soviet Il-2 aircraft shot down near Demyansk (Novgorod Region) - the first volume of the pre-war edition (1940) of the novel "Two Captains", which before its last flight read Deputy Commander of the 2nd Squadron of the 568th Attack Aviation Regiment, Lieutenant Mikhail Gavrilov (the pilot died on April 30, 1942).
In general, the fact that it survived, if not a miracle, then an amazing combination of circumstances. Even after drying, the volume clearly gives off aviation diesel fuel. At the same time, the book lay in the hip pocket of the pilot's flight suit along with another - "The Combat Experience of Soviet Aviation."
When examining the book, its new owners found that the 38th page was wrapped, as is done when a person is in a hurry. Perhaps it was at this place that Lieutenant Mikhail Gavrilov received the command to take off and in a hurry turned down the page before taking his plane into the sky for the last time. It can also be assumed that this book was his talisman, but the very fact that the "Two Captains" helped him beat the enemy can be considered indisputable.

"Two Captains" is not just a novel by the Russian Soviet classic Veniamin Kaverin, for several generations of our country it has been a symbol of courage, honor, loyalty, chivalrous self-sacrifice in the name of a cherished goal, in the name of friendship and love. Needless to say, such concepts have not become very popular in our "commercial" days. And as if a challenge to businessmanship and huckstering, the testament of the "junior captain" Sanya Grigoriev, "Fight and seek, find and not give up", embodied in bronze, grew in ancient Pskov a monument to Two Captains (authors - young St. Petersburg sculptors M. Belov and A. Ananiev). The eldest, Captain Tatarinov, is very similar in sculpture to O. Yu. Schmidt, and the youngest, Sanya, is a slightly grown-up boy from Pskov, named Ensk in Kaverin's novel. (St. Zolottsev). This composition was approved by Kaverin himself.
Kaverin saw the sketch when he came to Pskov in 1986: they celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Pskov male gymnasium (now School No. 1), where the future writer studied. Veniamin Alexandrovich liked the sketch and later, in a letter to the rector of the Repin Leningrad Institute, Pyotr Fomin, he wrote about the work of his students, young sculptors Mikhail Belov and Andrei Ananiev: “I can’t convey to you the deep feeling of gratitude that I feel when I think about that my sixty years of stubborn and, I dare say, honest work will be immortalized with such an invaluable gift as a monument to the heroes of my novel ... ".
The writer was not destined to live to see the erection of the monument. Its opening took place in July 1995 - Sanya Grigoriev, who is rapidly advancing towards a goal that is completely clear to him, and the romantic, sublime, raised on a pedestal captain Tatarinov, very similar to the famous explorer of the North O. Schmidt, now daily greet residents of the city, museum visitors and readers libraries.
The bronze hand of Sanya Grigoriev sparkles from the touch of idle amateurs taking pictures with monuments, but also from the rare secret shaking of those who share with the hero the ardent oath “Fight and seek, find and not give up!”.

Kaverin Veniamin Aleksandrovich (1902 - 1989), prose writer.
Born April 6, 1902 in Pskov in the family of a musician. In 1912 he entered the Pskov gymnasium. "My older brother's friend Yu. Tynyanov, later a well-known writer, was my first literary teacher, who inspired me with an ardent love for Russian literature," Kaverin writes. At the age of sixteen, he came to Moscow and in 1919 graduated from high school here. Wrote poetry. In 1920 he transferred from Moscow University to Petrograd University, simultaneously enrolling in the Institute of Oriental Languages, graduating from both. He was left at the university in graduate school, where he was engaged in scientific work for six years and defended his dissertation in 1929. In 1921, together with M. Zoshchenko, N. Tikhonov, Vs. Ivanov was the organizer of the literary group "Serapion Brothers". It was first published in the almanac of this group in 1922 (the story "Chronicle of the city of Leipzig for 18 ... year"). In the same decade, he wrote stories and novels ("Masters and Apprentices" (1923), "The Suit of Diamonds" (1927), "The End of Khaza" (1926), a story about the life of scientists "Brawler, or Evenings on Vasilyevsky Island" (1929 ) Decided to become a professional writer, finally devoting himself to literary creativity In 1934 - 36 he wrote his first novel "Fulfillment of Desires", in which he set the task not only to convey his knowledge of life, but also to develop his own literary style. It succeeded, the novel was a success. The most popular work of Kaverin was the novel for youth - "Two Captains", the first volume of which was completed in 1938. The outbreak of World War II stopped work on the second volume. During the war, Kaverin wrote front-line correspondence, military essays, stories. At his request, he was sent to the Northern Fleet. It was there, communicating daily with pilots and submariners, that I understood in what direction the work on the second volume of "Two Captains" would go. In 1944 the second volume of the novel was published. In 1949 - 56 he worked on the trilogy "Open Book", about the formation and development of microbiology in the country, about the goals of science, about the nature of the scientist. The book has gained popularity with the reader. In 1962, Kaverin published the story "Seven Unclean Pairs", which tells about the first days of the war. In the same year, the story "Slanting Rain" was written. In the 1970s he created the book of memoirs "In the Old House", as well as the trilogy "Illuminated Windows", in the 1980s - "Drawing", "Evening Day". V. Kaverin died on May 2, 1989.Application. slide 4.

Guys, I hope you enjoyed our meeting with the novel "Two Captains". And most importantly, I really want to hope that the book did not leave any of you indifferent ...
A book exhibition-acquaintance has been open in the Antipinsky rural library since April 5 April Anniversaries: Writers and Artists. April is a month full of anniversaries of famous writers, poets, artists and composers. We decided to organize one exhibition and dedicate it to all anniversaries of the month. Each section of the exhibition is dedicated to a separate hero of the day and introduces our users to their books and books about them.
On the first shelf called "Novels of a Thinker and a Revolutionary" placed the books of the Russian writer A.I. Herzen, which celebrated its 200th anniversary on April 6. His three-volume book Past and Thoughts, the novels The Magpie-Thief and Who is to Blame? make more than one generation think.
And to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the writer Veniamin Alexandrovich Kaverin the inside display shelf is called "Seek and don't give up" Kaverin wrote the novel "Two Captains" in 1944, and two years later he received the Stalin Prize for it. The book was so popular that, they say, many schoolchildren proved to geography teachers that Captain Tatarinov really discovered the Northern Land. And in Pskov - in the homeland of Kaverin - a monument was erected to Captain Tatarinov and Sanya Grigoriev. “I have an interesting life behind me. But the most interesting thing in it, after all, is my childhood and youth. I am sure: if there was no such childhood and such youth, I would not have written all my books ... " wrote Kaverin V.A.
April 22 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the writer and scientist Ivan Antonovich Efremov. Today, few people know that Efremov was not only a wonderful writer, but a man of encyclopedic knowledge and a brilliant scientist - paleontologist, doctor of science, who defined and laid the foundations of taphonomy, a branch of paleontology. The section with his books is called " Man of the Age of the Ring - Ivan Efremov.
Good and touching stories Valentina Oseeva"The Magic Word", "Before the first rain", "Blue Leaves", "Good" and many others have become classics of children's literature. Her short stories give children examples of human relations, teach honesty, respect and love for people, sensitivity to those around us. In a fascinating way, using examples close to children, Oseeva helps her young readers understand what true friendship is, how you can hurt a person with a simple word, or vice versa, heal a person. In her stories-parables, the writer tells the children how to build relationships with their peers, how to solve emerging "children's" problems.
The works of V. Oseeva help to see that such diseases of the soul as selfishness, greed, anger and betrayal poison life more than external troubles. Evgeny Karelov.
The book was written over the course of six years. 1938 By 1944 of the year. Kaverin recalled that the creation of the novel " Two captains began with his meeting with a young geneticist Mikhail Lobashev in a sanatorium near Leningrad in the mid-thirties. “He was a man in whom ardor was combined with straightforwardness, and perseverance - with amazing definiteness of purpose,” the writer recalled. “He knew how to achieve success in any business.”
Lobashev told Kaverina about his childhood, a strange muteness in his early years, orphanhood, homelessness, a commune school in Tashkent and about how he subsequently managed to enter the university and become a scientist.
“This was the story of a boy who had a difficult childhood and who was brought up by Soviet society - people who became his family and supported the dream that from an early age caught fire in his ardent and just heart”(IN. Kaverin).
Another prototype of the protagonist was a military fighter pilot Samuil Klebano who died heroically 1942 year. He initiated the writer into the secrets of flying.
The image of the captain Ivan Lvovich Tatarinov recalls several historical analogies. IN 1912 year, three Russian polar expeditions set sail: on the ship " St. Fock"under the command of Georgy Sedov, on the schooner" St. Anna" under the direction of George Brusilov and on the bot Hercules" with Vladimir Rusanov.
Expedition on a schooner St. Mary" in the novel actually repeats the timing of the journey and the route " Saint Anna". Appearance, character and views of the captain Tatarinov relate him to Georgy Sedov. The Search for the Captain's Expedition Tatarinov reminiscent of the search for the expedition Rusanova. The fate of the character of the navigator novel "St. Mary" by Ivan Klimov resonates with the true fate of the navigator Saint Anna by Valerian Albanov.
By the way, the motto of the novel is the words " Fight and seek, find and don't give up” is the final line from the textbook poem of Lord Tennyson "Ulysses". This line is also engraved on the cross in memory of the lost expedition. R. Scott to the South Pole, on a hill Observation.
It's for the novel "Two Captains" Veniamin Kaverin He was awarded the Stalin Prize of the second degree in 1946.
The novel went through more than a hundred reprints, was translated into many foreign languages, filmed twice (1955 - director Vladimir Vengerov,1976 - director Evgeny Karelov). In 2001, based on the novel, the musical " Nord-Ost».
The heroes of the novel Two captains» in 1995, a monument was erected in the author’s hometown, Pskov(displayed in a book called Ensk).
April 18, 2002 in the Pskov regional children's library The museum of the novel was opened Two captains».
In 2003 the main square of the city Polar Murmansk region is called the area of Two Captains. It was from here that the expedition set sail Vladimir Rusanov and Georgy Brusilov.
"My Captains"
Veniamin Kaverin finished writing the book in 1944, and it reached me fifty years later. I was eleven, the book was on the shelf, absolutely nondescript, without bright pictures, quite voluminous ... I still don’t understand what prompted me to pick it up.
Most likely, after all, it was not without incitement from my mother, who has always been my main "helmsman" in the sea of \u200b\u200bbooks. Be that as it may, at first I took the book with some doubt, I thought, I'll look through a little and close it. I started reading ... and drowned, failed, disappeared. I don’t know how else to explain the state in which this novel plunged me.
No other book has evoked such emotions and feelings in me before: anger, resentment, compassion, joy, inspiration. The book was read quickly. I was literally stunned by the impressions and at the same time I felt some kind of melancholy, emptiness, as if I had been deprived of something dear. And without thinking twice, I again took up the novel, this time reading more thoughtfully, peering into the characters, analyzing the actions.
I don't know how many times I've read it two captains”, but some phrases still clearly pop up in memory: "Sticks must be popindicular"(writing lessons from Gaera Kuliya), “I can’t bring the third lemon home”(dearest Nina Kapitonovna I always dreamed of seeing my grandmother) "Sick G., dumbness without deafness", "Mongotimo Hawkclaw", “I beg you one thing: do not trust this man!”(phrase from the captain's letter Tatarinov, which played a fatal role in the life of his family).
And of course I like Sanya Grigoriev, tried to memorize the navigator's letters. Now almost everything has been forgotten, but I still remember the first lines: “Dear Maria Vasilievna! I hasten to inform you that Ivan Lvovich alive and well. Four months ago, in accordance with his instructions, I left the schooner, and with me thirteen crew members ... ".
The heroes of the book taught me patience and endurance, friendship and fidelity. But I also realized that in life there is cruelty and betrayal, hatred and envy. I was so struck by the confrontation Sani Grigorieva And Mikhail Romashev ("Daisies") that when we were first given the task at school to write an essay on any topic, I dedicated it to what worried me the most at that time, naming my work The story of friendship and betrayal in the novel by Veniamin Kaverin "Two Captains".
I was frightened and repelled by this very Chamomile, it was frightening that meanness and bitterness could be hidden behind outward decency and politeness. How I wanted to scream "Do not trust him!" when he told Katya about how he tried to save Sanya! And how I rejoiced, reading the exposure scene Romashova! Forgive me actor Yuri Bogatyrev, but I couldn't get rid of a somewhat prejudiced attitude towards him because of his undoubtedly brilliant performance of the role Daisies.
By the way, about the movie. This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the premiere of the director's six-episode film Evgeniya Karelova « Two captains". For me personally, the film was the second gift after the book itself. In general, many readers have a rather complicated relationship with film adaptations: very rarely the screen embodiment coincides with what they imagined and saw while reading this or that work.
But the movie Evgeniya Karelova became a rare exception for me, thus hitting the very point. It was what I wanted to see. Due to the fact that the film was filmed in several series, it reproduced the plot of the book quite fully. There were, of course, some differences, but for me they didn’t really matter, and at one point I would even be glad to leave the film version: unlike the book, in the film, Sani’s sister does not die after childbirth, but safely gives birth and leaves with young son to evacuate.
And, of course, the music of the most talented composer plays a huge role in the film. Evgenia Ptichkina. Overture and ending song written to the words of the director Evgeniya Karelova, in and of themselves evoke a whole gamut of emotions.
Not having the opportunity to download music from the Internet at that time, I put a small tape recorder close to the TV. Legend” and, having waited for the right moment, turned on the recording. The quality, of course, left much to be desired, but I was already happy that, by pressing the button, I could listen to the music again and again, which captivated me so much, called me somewhere; listen to the final song, in which the sonorous voice of the boy, as if from the face Sani Grigorieva sings such important words. Very often, at the same time, tears came to my eyes - they were tears of pride, admiration for people who are capable of Actions, who know how to make friends and know how to love, for whom duty and honor are not empty words.
Many years have passed since my first meeting with the two captains, but the book still occupies a worthy place on the bookshelf. Now it already has a somewhat worn and shabby look, but this is not my fault, I handled the book very carefully. Just once a classmate asked me to let her read it (assigned for the summer). I did not want to give away the book at all, but it was also undesirable to pass for a greedy person.
As a result, at the end of the summer, the book returned in a terrible state, with a torn cover ... and, what is most offensive, it was never read. The best use they have found for it is as a pan holder. To say I was upset is an understatement. I sobbed over the spoiled book from resentment and some incomprehensible feeling of guilt before it, as if I had not saved it.
I was offered to replace, buy a new, beautiful one. But I refused. Although this book is already old, shabby, with yellowed pages, but it is mine, dear, beloved. When I want to reread an episode, I know exactly what page it is on. And then, it seemed to me that having bought a new book, I would betray the old one, offend it - then something would collapse, some thin ties between me and the book would break. That's what I thought as a child, and now my thoughts have not changed.
To this day they live next to me Sanya And Petka, Kate And Sasha, Ivan Ivanovich And Ivan Pavlovich, Nina Kapitonovna and aunt Dasha. They live and help in difficult times, because they are faithful, because they are real!
“Where did my captains go?
Look at the tracks of their sleigh in the dazzling white snow!
This is the railroad track of science that looks ahead.
Remember that there is nothing more beautiful
than this hard way.
Remember that the most powerful powers of the soul are patience,
courage and love for one's country, for one's cause"
